nice evening with McKnight's and Frye's

Last evening Deb and I attended Cornerstone University's
Alumni Family Weekend Banquet. Scot McKnight was awarded "The Alumnus of the Year". And it was nice to chat with Scot and Kris again, as well as see John and Julie Frye there.

Scot is already working on a new book (at least one), and John has a new book coming out anytime, a novel (he called it a novella). Scot writes a foreword or afterword in this book.

It was a nice evening at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Nice setting, good food and great fellowship. We missed sitting at the table with the McKnight's and Frye's but we had some good conversation with them both. We got acquainted with some teachers at Cornerstone at our table. That was fun and interesting. Unfortunately I had problems with my camera when Scot and Kris went forward to receive Scot's award so I didn't even get a picture taken of that; it did happen faster than I anticipated.

You can see I'm really challenged in trying to get pics and text on a posting right. It seems like I can't do to either what I'd like. It's like a game; I'll keep trying (and maybe give up at a certain point).

...well, I got it. Good enough!

Many thanks for coming and for posting theses pictures. I mentioned to Kris that I wish you could have been at our table as well. Great to see you and Deb, and glad Deb could stay so long.

I think I've told you that I cannot post on Blogger for some reason by signing in. So, I do anonymously and write my name ... sometimes.

So, the previous is from

Scot McKnight

well, brother ted. so glad that you and your wife had a good evening! it is so fun to see you two together in this photograph.

i went through a time of dipression and anxiety that was very bad and could not do anything with my family for a while. or anything else for that matter.
so i know how special it is to be able to go out together and socialize.

you two are such a pair of love birds.

thanks for allowing us to be a part of your life and the festivies.

lots of love to you both.

Glad you're better. I've suffered with depression before too, though it was never clinically diagnosed.

It is nice to get out. We are trying to do it more.

Thanks so much. Same to you and yours.

Yes. Wish you could have been there. It would have been nice though, to hear Scot speak (and John too).
