prayer of the week

Almighty God, you have built your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone: Grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their teaching, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

As you have prayed for unity (from the Anglican BCP, no less), you might want to check out my latest post on the Anglican Communion.

I'm now back at my parents' house, and hopefully I'll have some time to catch up on your recent posts.

Andrew,
Thanks. I'm over at your post now and as always very well written.

I would have a hard time being a part of a denomination that has the issues like the Anglican communion worldwide has, though there are and have been tremendous evangelical leaders in this communion, like Bishop N.T. Wright, John R.W. Stott, in the past Bishop J.C. Ryle, of course C.S. Lewis, etc.

I am growing to like liturgy and liturgical prayer as complementary to free expressions of prayer. And I overall like the BCP, though I use such in a limited way.

But I look forward to working through your post, including the links you have on it- which I'm working on right now.
