prayer for fifth Sunday in Lent

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Thank you Ted. I really enjoy these written prayers you've posted. Do you post them every Sunday?

Thanks Monica. Lately I've been posting something on Sunday's that I hope will contribute to a reader's day, whether some lines from a written prayer, hymn, etc. Scot McKnight has been doing this for some time, and I think others do it as well. I like the idea, as Sundays tend to be a light day in the blog world, and ideally I think should include some special time of worship and reflection individually and corporately.

Not to say I consider that a hard, fast rule. If people want to blog on Sunday, I think that's fine. :)
