prayer for the week

Grant us, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among things which are passing away, to hold fast to those that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Excellent prayer - it speaks to me. Let's hold fast to what's eternal.

Thanks for sharing this

Ted,

this is great. I really neded to read this. I'm facing the death of a loved one. Yet I have to keep my mind on all things eternal. Life hee passes away but GOD never leaves us.

ESI, Amen.

Mike, Sorry to hear that, brother. I'll be praying for you as I remember. This world is going to be redeemed in Christ, but it is the redemption in Christ that we're to be focused on, in our lives and in life. Not easy, though to go through the death of a loved one.

And I would like to add that this world as to its present existence will be a thing of the past. So why should we live now as if it's what matters, when it is there for our blessing, yet within it also has God's curse.
