a prayer

O God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to your with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

I think that first I have to actually really know who He is before I can be devoted with my whole heart, to know, understand and trust in His unchangeable character.

Susan, Good point. Certainly that comes to us by revelation from God and we get enough of it in our hearts early on that we can begin to love God and our neighbor in this way.

Grace and peace from God surely are important also in helping us live in the truth and love given to us in Christ.
