prayer for the week: for love from the Spirit

O Lord, you have taught us that without love whatever we do is worth nothing; Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts your greatest gift, which is love, the true bond of peace and of all virtue, without which whoever lives is accounted dead before you. Grant this for the sake of your only Son Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Ted - thanks. I have been reading through 1st Cor...and wouldn't you know this past week, I was reading chapter 13. And, I was convicted about how often my disposition toward many is not set in love.

This prayer is another reminder to pursue the love that comes from God

ESI,
Thanks for sharing that. Good when we get convicted when reading God's word, and particularly in regard to love.

Yes, I like the BCP and look forward to getting an edition of it soon, and really using it, which will be an interesting move on my part, since I really am not used to using prayer books. But I'm convinced that this can be one helpful component and part of the prayer life.
