prayer for the week

O God, whose blessed Son came into the world that he might destroy the works of the devil and make us children of God and heirs of eternal life: Grant that, having this hope, we may purify ourselves as he is pure; that, when he comes again with power and great glory, we may be made like him in his eternal and glorious kingdom; where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Check out the hairstyle in the new post (haircut today) versus the "catching the bridal bouquet" style and see if you can see the difference - it's several inches shorter around her face - I posted it mostly because she has a "friend" who was giving her a hard time about getting a "girl" haircut of 1/4th - but I think mostly he was worried that she was getting it cut short! And I mostly just like to give him a hard time because he comes to my blog to look at her pictures.

Amen, brother.

Susan, haha. And I can understand him doing that- i.e., coming to your post to look at her pictures.

well, he's coming to my house to look at her - actually to meet her - at Thanksgiving. He was a blog (is I supposed although how one transisitons now that I am "the parent" who knows) buddy while he was in Turkey for two years with Campus Crusade - I'd written about her (Xanga, so before you started reading) and posted pictures - he liked both her character and her looks - so they started communicating about 4 months ago when he got back into the US, first by email then by phone. They seem to be well-matched and interested in the same things - now we'll see if they're interested in each other.

As to thick, curly hair - I want to see a picture - but I would imagine it is hard to deal with because hers is - she got it from her dad, so I only know this as a mom, not experientially.

have a great day - we're leaving for work as soon as we take the next dose of Tylenol.

Well, Susan, my hair is a straggly mop especially compared to the way it used to be. So shaving it off is kind of just acknowledging what it's doing anyhow. But I suppose I could somehow rig up a pic online from decades back.

Andrew is a sharp young guy, as I see from his blog. Looks solid to me. So I guess I'd give my approval!
