prayer for the week

Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

we learn throuth life. and life is lived a bit at a time. and life is lived with other people, things, animals, etc. the point i am comming to is that i would like to read about you and your community. what is community in your living and the experience of it. what you are learning from it. what is your personal community and how does that relate to the body of Christ and your walk today. what are you doing today and how does that relate to the Jesus community.

and maybe sometimes your prayer for the week could be your prayer.

my suggestions are ment in love and not because i do not like how you already write or blog.

Nancy,
Your thoughts are good, of course.

I have posted my own prayers before, and I think I've posted regular stuff on Sunday, going on my memory. It has been only relatively recently, to my entire blog, that I've posted consistently daily. But on Saturday I choose to take a little time off posting by just doing the collective prayer from the "Book of Prayer". This prayer is actually the "collect" for each day of the week in that prayer book.

To read prayers and pray them together with God's people is something new for me. But I find the prayers helpful, and often so much fuller than I see at first read. Again this is something new for me, but if you go to Jesus Creed, with Scot McKnight, see my blog links, and find his book on his link, "Praying With The Church", you'll find a book that has influenced me. Though most of my praying is conversational souding and free, my own words.

You do sound like L.L. Barkat who has encouraged me to be more personal on my posts.

Nancy, thanks for your thoughts! I appreciate them, and I will consider how they can impact my blogging.

i really do not believe that i even posted that comment. but, as i read about your dedication to community in Jesus it only takes my mind a little bit to want to hear about some of your personal experiences of what that is in your life. it makes me wonder how may ways you can see the Jesus community in your life and how many things come across our path where you see yourself in it. how does it look in your mind. how does it feel in your heart.

you have so much to share of your own experience and relationship!

however, as i said, i can hardly believe where i get off even telling you something like this...i think that your blogging is lovely and very helpful and full of love for God. i can't help but feel like i am sticking my nose in too far...but, it is easy since i have a fairly big nose on my mug.

haha, Nancy. Glad you made your commment. That's a big part of what blogging is all about. Sharing our hearts, minds and in a sense our lives with each other.

So do so anytime. Thanks for your kind words.

There's plenty I can learn in better blogging I'm sure. I just hope I'm growing in relation to God and to others, and then we all need to be who we are in Jesus.
