Yes, Mama K. Reading Merton a bit at the retreat we were at on Saturday, he brought out how God makes us dry for a good reason, and often more so later on in our lives. Probably to deepen us in putting more of a sense of need in us, that we find fulfilled only in God through God's word to us in Christ.
