My 85 year old dad is in the hospital (in Ohio). He has shingles and pneumonia and was not responsive last night until on the way to the hospital. He suffers from dementia and is weak. Mom is 80 and blessed with good health. We all will appreciate prayers. Thanks so much.

Ted, I will pray right now. Peace, peace. Kim
Thanks so much, Kim.
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant Mr Gossard, and give your power of healing to those who minister to his needs, that he may be strengthened in his weakness and have confidence in your loving care. Look upon him with the eyes of your mercy; comfort him with a sense of your goodness; and grant that finally he may dwell with you in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
God of comfort and mercy be with the Gossards.
Ted,
I'm praying for your dad and mom.

Yes. Oh yes.
Thanks so much, Odysseus, anonymous, Alan, L.L., and others (through e-mail).
Just talked to my family at the hospital. We plan to be there tomorrow and Sunday.
Dad has a subdural hematoma he suffered through a fall. They're taking off his blood thinner which prevents clots to get his blood to clot. And he's in atrial fib with an unstable heart rate, between 80-130 (normally it's 60). And he has chronic congestive heart failure which explains the fluid in his lungs (meaning he may not have pneumonia on top of that). He's in neuro ICU, and while he's awake and aware of what's going on around him, he's miserable.
Thanks again for all the prayers.
Ted,
May God keep you and your family in perfect peace as your minds are stayed on Him because you trust in Him.
praying...
Thanks so much, Andre and Drew.
And thanks to anyone who may pray but choose not to comment.
Thank you for sharing this with us Ted. My prayers go out to you and your family.
Ted,
I am praying for you and your dad.
Thanks so much, Monica and Dan.
Merciful Father, send your Spirit to comfort and bless, heal and strengthen; and thank You for Your Son, in whose name we ask all of these things!
In my prayers Ted.
Thanks Susan for your prayer and JP, for praying.
Mom seems to be doing fine. Dad seems stable enough for now. We're headed over there in the morning.
Ted:
Prayers will be offered for your Dad, and your Mom, and you.
May God give you his peace in this Holy Week as you prepare for the victory of Easter.
Allan, Thanks much!
Interceding, Ted. One of the things the preacher said today was that in the gospels, "healing" and "salvation" are often conflated. Makes sense since Jesus heals all wounds and repairs all breaches. I'm not sure what plans He has for your father and family, Ted; just know that He's with you. I'm grateful you believe. And though I've never actually met you, I do support you in faith and in spirit. Jesus, too, is familiar with suffering, acquainted with infirmity and grief, and more than able to fix it all. Hold on, Ted. Hold on.
Your friend,
KM
Praying for you, brother.
KM, Thanks so much for for your kind and wise words. I find them helpful with what I personally and we together as a family are facing. There is so much in this than meets the eye for the outsider, and even for us on the "inside". God sees, understands and is at work. And I seek to "hold on" in faith, as you point out! Thanks so much.
Llama Momma, Thanks so much, sister.
