unity in love

It's wonderful to see unity by the Spirit. This joins truth and love together in Jesus among ourselves. Humility is at the forefront here. Humility is simply having that sense of who we are, good and bad, and seeing others as just as valuable or important as ourselves, and treating them as more so.

I saw this yesterday in our team at work. A good atmosphere of love and respect for each other, in reverence for the Lord.

From this we can do the will of God in Jesus, for each other and in mission for the world. And without this we can do none of it, at least not very well.

What thoughts might you have about "unity in love"?

Yes, the Spirit seems to be a sort of wonderful glue that can attach unlike things together. (Dare we call the Holy Spirit "crazy glue"? : )

L.L.,
Yes indeed. Looking at Jesus' disciples is a good case in point.

It is interesting how we have to work at it in this life, though. We have to make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Ephesians). Strong but it seems like it's breakable, that "glue."

But you're right; when the bond is working, it matters not who is bonded together. I need to remember this, because I have to admit that I sometimes look at people differently because of some differences. But I also experience the oneness with them in Jesus that seems to make these differences to not matter. That happens too, but not all the time, I'm afraid, at least not like it should.

Thanks for your post - unity in love as you've phrased it, is an identifying mark of Christians.

Thanks, ESI.

Yes, they'll now we are Christians by our love, the love of God in Christ. And they need to see that demonstrated in our love for each other.
